5 ways to help our staff this year

Our staff is working hard to ensure our visitors have a safe and enjoyable time at Ontario Parks.

Here are some ways you can do your part to maintain a smooth experience at our parks for everyone:

1. Be kind to our staff and each other

It’s been a challenging year and we know how excited you are to escape to the natural beauty of our provincial parks!

Our staff is working hard to get you into the park as quickly as possible. If you encounter longer lines or closed facilities, be patient.

Our staff are working tirelessly to operate parks under difficult circumstances. Please treat them with respect and understanding.

2. Keep campsites tidy

We have seen an increase in trash left at campgrounds over the past few seasons.

Many parks have reached capacity on the weekends and cleaning all those campgrounds between visitors is hard work.

Before you hit the road, sweep your campsite and make sure trash has been picked up. Spending less time cleaning campsites allows you more time to focus on other important aspects of the park.

Remember to consider your fellow campers and leave the site as you found it so they can enjoy themselves. Did you know that it is actually illegal to have or leave a messy campsite in a provincial park?

3. Respect the rules of the comfort stations.

Bathroom etiquette is always appreciated, regardless of the season.

Please follow the instructions posted on the bathroom doors, giving other visitors enough space and time to use the facilities, and give us time to properly clean the bathrooms.

4. Temper your expectations

The parks are working to have as many services and facilities available for your visit as possible, however closures and delays do occur.

We want everyone to enjoy their visit to the park. To avoid disappointment, visit your park’s online spaces, including alerts and social media, to check for updates.

5. Share your appreciation with our staff.

At the end of the day, we are here to ensure that all visitors have a safe and enjoyable time in the parks. Seeing and hearing about your positive experience makes our day; Let our staff know you appreciate all their hard work.

If you would like to tell us about a positive experience, but have already left the park, please write to us on any of our social media pages or email us and tell us what you enjoyed about your stay.
