Beans are back!  - Parks Blog

This summer, several Ontario parks will be distributing sample cans of Bush’s Beans to campers! And this year, we’re going maple style.

The parks that will distribute samples are:

One sample can for each visiting vehicle. Sample cans will be available while supplies last!

Bush’s Egg and Bean Breakfast Burritos

Recipe details:

  • Preparation time: 5 minutes
  • Cooking time: 5 minutes
  • Total time: 10 minutes
  • Servings: 6

Ingredients:

  • 1 can () BUSH’S Maple Baked Beans, hot
  • 6 eggs, lightly beaten
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • Salt and freshly ground pepper
  • 8 slices cooked bacon, crumbled
  • ¼ cup chopped green onion
  • 6 () flour tortillas, warmed
  • Optional: grated cheddar cheese
  • Sauce or ketchup

Preparation:

  • Heat butter in a nonstick skillet until sizzling. Season the eggs with salt and pepper. Add it to the pan. Sprinkle with bacon and onion. Cook until eggs are cooked, stirring occasionally.
  • Divide the egg mixture into 6 parts. Pour egg mixture and about 1/4 cup beans into warm tortillas. Sprinkle with cheese and drizzle with sauce, if desired. wrap tortillas

    • Preparation time: 15 minutes
    • Cooking time: 10 minutes
    • Total time: 25 minutes
    • Servings: 10

    Ingredients:

    • 1 can BUSH’S® Maple Style Baked Beans
    • 1 package miniature smoked sausages (about 30 sausages)
    • 5 flour tortillas
    • shredded cheddar cheese

    Preparation:

  • Place sausages and beans in a medium saucepan.
  • Cook over medium heat for 8-10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Get away from heat
  • Meanwhile, using a 3-round cookie or cookie cutter, cut each tortilla into 8 small rounds. Using a slotted spoon, place 1 sausage on each tortilla and top with 1 tablespoon beans. Add cheese, if desired
  • Fold like a taco and secure the top (across the tortilla and sausage) with a toothpick. And serve (remove the toothpick before eating)

    TIP: Cut remaining tortilla scraps into strips, spray with cooking spray, and bake for 6 to 8 minutes in the oven. Then use it to top bowls of tortilla soup or chili.
