Northwestern Ontario

Caliper Lake Provincial Park

The calm waters of Caliper Lake offer a relaxing option for a day of canoeing. A large beach and separate swimming area make swimming a favorite activity at Caliper Lake. Enjoy the warm, shallow waters and floating swimming platform.

Caliper Lake is one hour from Fort Frances and 4 hours from Winnipeg.

Rainbow Falls Provincial Park – Whitesand

You’ll want to stay all week when you can glimpse Lake Superior’s stunning shoreline!

Shake off the cobwebs with a hike along the Casque Isle Trail, or watch cascading waters as they tumble over the rock ledges of Rainbow Falls on their way to Lake Superior.

Rainbow Falls is 2.5 hours from Thunder Bay and 5 hours from Sault Ste Marie (just follow the shoreline of Lake Superior!).

Northeastern Ontario

Pancake Bay Provincial Park

Pancake Bay features over 3 km of beautiful sandy beaches and blue Caribbean waters. Enjoy a panoramic view of Lake Superior from the Edmund Fitzgerald Lookout hiking trail. The park is located along the historic Travelers’ Rowing Route and is a short drive from many regional attractions.

Pancake Bay is 1 hour from Sault Ste Marie.

Fushimi Lake Provincial Park

Lake Fushimi offers excellent fishing opportunities for walleye, pike, whitefish and yellow perch. You can clean your catch at the fish hut next to the jetty.

Lake Fushimi is 3.5 hours from Timmins.

Near the north

Finlayson Point Provincial Park

Rest and relax on the shore of beautiful Lake Temagami, where canoes, boats and seaplanes pass by. Swim off sandy beaches and snorkel in deep, crystal-clear waters.

Hike to the Caribou Mountain Overlook or head into town to climb the Temagami Fire Tower for views of the park, Temagami City, and Lake Temagami.

Finlayson Point is less than 5 hours from Toronto and 2 hours from Sudbury.

Mississagi Provincial Park

If you’ve been to Mississagi, you know it’s one of Ontario’s best kept secrets. The landscape is spectacular with hills, ridges, cliffs, valleys and bright blue lakes. Three beaches flow into the pleasant waters of Lake Semiwite and hikers will love the seven hiking trails with fantastic views.

Mississagi is just over 3 hours west of Sudbury and 3 hours east of Sault Ste. Marie. Maria.
