Killarney Yurt

The six Killarney yurts are located at George Lake Campground on their own site, away from other campers. A short walk of 70m to 200m will take you to your accommodation from the car park. Each yurt sleeps six people and is electrically heated. The yurts are located near a vaulted bath.

These rustic one-bedroom cabins have wood interiors and a covered front porch. Sleeps six people in a queen bed and a double bunk bed. The cabin has a small kitchen with a microwave, mini fridge, coffee maker, kettle and hob. There is a dining table and chairs for indoor dining.

Outside you will find a gas barbecue and picnic table. A propane fireplace provides a cozy temperature and atmosphere inside. There are no bathrooms inside the cabins, however there are heated toilets adjacent to the cabins.

MacGregor Point Provincial Park — yurts (14)

Lake Huron shore, 3 hours from Toronto, 2.5 hours from London

MacGregorPoint Yurt

MacGregor Point has many yurts to choose from! Enjoy the park’s winter activities like skating, snowshoeing, and cross-country skiing, and come home to a nice, warm yurt! All yurts are nearby vault bathrooms and are located just steps from a heated comfort station.

These eight-sided, tent-like structures are heated, furnished, and available year-round. Inside each yurt, visitors will find two bunk beds (sleeping six), a table and four chairs, electric lighting, and a heater for cool-weather camping. Outside, you will find a gas barbecue for cooking, a fire pit, and a picnic table on site. Nearby is a heated comfort station with toilets, showers and laundry.

Cabin

The cabin sleeps five people in a queen bed and a double/single bunk bed. High-quality mattresses provide a restful sleep. The cabin has a small kitchenette with a microwave, mini fridge, coffee maker, and countertop. There is a dining table and chairs for indoor dining. Outside you will find a gas barbecue and picnic table. A propane/electric fireplace provides additional comfort.

Soft-walled shelter

Located on a wooden platform, the tent features rustic log furniture and two queen-size beds (sleeps four) equipped with comfortable mattresses. The kitchenette includes a mini-fridge, coffee maker, and countertop. Outside you will find a gas barbecue for cooking.

Quetico Provincial Park — rustic cabins (3)

2.5 hours from Thunder Bay

Quetico’s rustic cabins offer a great base for exploring the vast nature that surrounds you. Each cabin offers different amenities, so be sure to visit the covered accommodations page for more information. All cabins are within walking distance of the latrines.

Sandbanks Provincial Park — cabin (1)

Shores of Lake Ontario, 2.5-3 hours from Ottawa and Toronto

This one-and-a-half-story cottage includes a fully equipped kitchen, satellite TV, wood-burning fireplace and barbecue. The cabin sleeps six people. Bed linen and towels are supplied.

Silent Lake Provincial Park: yurts (8), cabins (10)

2.5 hours from Toronto / 3 hours from Ottawa

Spend the day skiing, snowshoeing, or ice fishing, then return to a heated base (pst! Yurts 5, 9, 16, and 38 include wood stoves, while the others use electric heating). The yurts sleep up to six people and have a fire pit and propane barbecue outside for cooking. All yurts are close to a vaulted bathroom and just steps from a year-round comfort station.

Cabin interior

For those who want a roof over their head, heated camping cabins are a great option! The cabins sleep up to five people and feature a kitchenette with a microwave, mini fridge, kettle and hob. Outside you will find a gas barbecue and picnic table. The cabins are equipped with electric baseboard heat and a propane fireplace. The camp cabin is located just steps from a comfort station and water tap.

Sleeping Giant Provincial Parks — cabins (5)

Shores of Lake Superior, 1.25 hours from Thunder Bay

These barrier-free cabins are located on the shores of Lake Marie Louise. Each cabin has three bedrooms, a bathroom with a large shower, a fully equipped modern kitchen, propane fireplace, and heated porch. Pots, pans, cups, bowls, plates, cutlery, kettle, coffee maker, pillows and bedding are provided. Outside each cabin is a fire pit and picnic table.

Winter cross-country ski destination located 45 minutes northwest of Sudbury

Windy Lake offers some of the best cross-country skiing and snowshoeing in the region. Many winter enthusiasts come for the day, but with four trailside yurts that are heated and available for winter use, winter camping is easy. Access to the yurts is only via ski slopes, which are approximately 166 m away (500 feet) walk. An outhouse is located very close to all yurts and is heated during the winter months.

Reservation Tips

While there are many weekend opportunities available, you’ll find the best selection Sunday through Thursday.
